Team Returns from Guantanamo Bay, Cuba

Six planners from our Federal Planning group made it back from a month-long trip to Naval Station Guantanamo Bay (NSGB). The team’s mission was to validate Asset Evaluations (AEs) in support of Financial Improvement Audit Readiness (FIAR). These evaluations included extensive revisions to the installations Real Property Records which are the resource for recording physical size, age, space utilization/function and condition of physical building and structure inventory assets. This work supports the FIAR program and methodology.

The installation is the southernmost deepwater U.S. Naval Base in the Western Hemisphere. This historic installation on the southeast corner of Cuba, is the oldest overseas U.S. Naval base. The historic context, rolling topography and scenic ocean views, provided a great landscape for cycling and walks.
