Prosser | PRIME AE was commissioned by Jacksonville University (JU) to compile a digital asset inventory (DAI) for the entire campus. The comprehensive digital inventory consists of primary campus assets, including existing utilities, building footprints and other site improvements. Interior building data was categorized using the facility inventory and classification manual (FICM) classification and Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) standard for planning and management services.

The DAI included the following:

  • Buildings
  • Interior building improvements
  • Subsurface & above ground utilities
  • Parking areas
  • Roadways
  • Walkways/paths
  • Specimen trees
  • Special/unique features

The DAI was generated from scanned documents, survey, CAD files and field measurements. Much of the information came from old documents from JU’s earliest development. The data was field-verified and GPS geo-referenced to ensure the creation of an accurate database.

The campus assets were uploaded into a web-based facility database and management program known as CAFM (Computer Aided Facility Management), which combines a user-friendly graphical interface and simple to use features. Prosser continues to provide updates to the DAI.
