SR 212 Beach Boulevard Landscape
Prosser was selected by District 2 of the Florida Department of Transportation for the design of this project on SR 212/Beach Boulevard in Jacksonville. This project creates a gateway landscape to the Jacksonville beaches.
The design for this project was coordinated with an adjacent project to ensure a unified landscape design along the roadway. Due to the limited landscape areas along the corridor, a critical analysis was performed to maximize landscape opportunities.
Prosser provided post-design services, performing site visits at critical project milestones. This project was in construction when both Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Matthew impacted the Jacksonville area. Prosser utilized a unique large palm staking detail which withstood the high winds and rain without any failures, preventing palms from falling in the roadway.
